ACADEMY ETIQUETTE GUIDELINES

  • Upon entering the academy, please remove your shoes

  • Greet your teammates upon entering the training area and welcome all guests and visitors by introducing yourself

  • Class begins with students lining up in descending rank

  • Be respectful to your teammates and instructors. Students must remain quiet and attentive during class.

  • All students must maintain impeccable personal hygiene due to the close-contact nature of the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

  • Shower before and after each training session and keep your finger nails and toes nails short and trimmed for safety purposes

  • Always wash your Gi, rash guards, and shorts after every training session. Wear a clean, dry Gi during training and never wear a dirty Gi or rash guard to class

  • Gi's must be white, black, or blue. No other colors are permitted to be worn. 

  • Treat all training partners how you would like to be treated. Be respectful and shake hands before and after each roll as a sign of respect.

  • A Gi top or rash guard must be worn at all times and all changing must be done in the changing rooms.

  • If you have to leave class early, please discuss this with the instructor before class has started.

  • Memberships must be cancelled in writing by completing a membership cancelation form available at the front desk.

  • All Membership dues are non-refundable. 

  • Training with any skin rash or sickness of any kind is prohibited. Skin checks may be done by staff to ensure the safety of all students

  • Please don’t not bring any food into the academy. Gum is prohibited in the training area

  • You can never drill a technique too many times so when drilling a technique, continue to do so until the instructor says otherwise.

  • Sandals must be worn in the bathrooms at all times and removed immediately upon exiting.

  • Obscene language and ill temperament will never be tolerated at the Academy.

  • Training partners are your teammates so take good care of each other. Apply only as much force as needed and never intentionally harm anyone.
